Day 2 is done – thanks be to God! Today was our longest in terms of driving and it was the most fatiguing. We had beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery around some of Lake Superior (it reminded me of the Group of 7 paintings). We then encountered heavy rain, fog, more rain, many construction stops – thankfully all of them were fairly short – and then the sun came out again for the last hour and both drivers had their sanity returned to them.
The Terry Fox Memorial was beautiful and moving. We drove past where he had to stop his Marathon of Hope and spent a few minutes reading the Memorial. They have created a beautiful park and it was so very peaceful overlooking Lake Superior.
It’s 10 and we’re off to bed. On to Winnipeg tomorrow. Night all.
